A recently published study conducted by Eroglu et al has demonstrated the superior properties of the Ortholox UHMWPE Sternal Cerclage System.

The findings of the study demonstrated the efficacy and safety of the Ortholox® UHMWPE Sternal Cerclage Band System. Ortholox Bands can be safely used in patients at risk of sternal dehiscence, as demonstrated by the lack of a significant difference between it and Steel Wire, which is often used for sternal stability.
